Knight’s birthday with their new release “Call My Name”. “We wanted to do something special for Steven and let everyone know to join in the celebration of his birthday on April 24 and we figured what better way than to combine it with our brand new release says Don Chaffin, lead vocalist/guitarist for the band.  Voices of Extreme is a power trio hailing from New York and has just finished a tour with Geoff Tate from Queensryche and currently planning their summer touring schedule. The band’s history dates back to 2004 with it’s inception and now proudly lists it’s members as Don Chaffin (Lead Vocalist/Guitarist), Steven G. Knight (Bass) and Bobby Marks (Drums). Steven joined the band in early 2016 and has fortified his position with a powerful ensemble of chops and performance. Voices of Extreme – Give Me Your Love

Voices of Extreme create a powerful, orchestral sort of metal that is tremendously reverent to the heavy metal of the eighties and nineties while coming forth with a clarity and focused sound that works well in current circles. Former ANTHRAX Guitarist DAN SPITZ Joins VOICES OF EXTREME

Former ANTHRAX guitarist Dan Spitz has joined VOICES OF EXTREME, the band led by his longtime collaborator Don Chaffin (RED LAMB). Recording has already started for a new six-song EP, to be followed by live shows in all parts of the world.

Says Spitz: “This powerful and crushing quartet is reminiscent of nothing before, but does fall into the realm of STONE SOUR, SHINEDOWN meets SOUNDGARDEN with a slamming riff master twisting it to a completely new level of new guitar tones, sounds, tapestries and emotional rides. I pray it brings much love to all.”

He adds: “There will be more announcements regarding other Christian movements, and projects I am entering into forthcoming that will certainly impact the world once again, and those involved with me are certainly a loving force of historical and legendary proportion.”

In addition to Dan Spitz entering as permanence, alongside his long time collaborator Don Chaffin on vocals (Red Lamb), we are proud to announce Steve Nichols (Solitude Aeturnus, GodFear) on drums and percussion. Let us also welcome Steven G Knight on thunderous bass from skin to string (Roulette, Outcast). A staple of the Texas music scene, and so much more.”

VOICES OF EXTREME To Release ‘Break The Silence’ In November

New York rockers VOICES OF EXTREME will release their second album, “Break The Silence”, on November 15.

VOICES OF EXTREME was created by childhood friends Don Chaffin and Bob Brennan. They started working on the recordings for their second release in late 2009 when Brennan and Nick Gertsson returned to New York. The 2013 lineup includes Chaffin on vocals, Brennan on bass, Gertsson on guitar, and John Cappadona on drums.

Says Chaffin: “‘Break The Silence’ is a culmination of the band’s collective influences and various individual styles of the band members and a direct outreach to the fans who have come to love and support our music and live performances.”

VOICES OF EXTREME debuted in 2005 with “Hypocrite”, a record that was produced by Dan Spitz (ANTHRAX). More recently, Chaffin performed with Spitz in the band RED LAMB, which embarked on a seven-week tour in early 2013.

VOICES OF EXTREME – BREAK THE SILENCE

VOICES OF EXTREME has a modern day rock formula with AOR influences and radio friendly appeal. But they have a heavier edge that separates them from the homogenized pre-packaged radio ga ga. V.O.X.?s influences range from METALLICA thrash riffs to G N? R dirty rock ?n? roll to GODSMACK?s accessibility to NICKLEBACK?s songwriting qualities. The album includes rockers, ballads, softer melodies, ripping solos and a pounding rhythm section. I can picture most of these songs rocking out on the radio to uninformed but surprised listeners.

Vocalist Don Chaffin is the sparkling diamond in this batch of gems, often sounding like a cross between Chris Cornell, Robert Plant and Lenny Wolf. Their lineup also includes guitarist Nick Gertsson, drummer John Macaluso (ARK, TNT, Yngwie Malmsteen), and bassist Bob Brennan. On this release, V.O.X. has added guitarist David Mercado to their line up.

There’s a lot to like about Break the Silence. If you’re into this type of rock with powerful, emotive vocals, then Break the Silence is for you. It?s so catchy and it rocks.
